Scott Sexton

Owner & Lead Trainer

Scott Sexton, known to many as “Scotty,” is the Owner and Lead Trainer at Andover Dog Training Center. He retired from the United States Army after six years of active duty service, including three years as part of an elite group of Combat Engineer K9 Handlers.

As a K9 handler, Scott trained and worked with Specialized Search Dogs tasked with detecting roadside bombs and landmines before they could harm soldiers and civilians. These dogs played a critical role in saving lives. Scott was deployed once to Iraq and once to Afghanistan, working alongside military working dogs in high-risk environments.

After surviving four major explosions during his service, Scott retired from the Army. His passion for working with dogs never faded, and it was his service dog, Harper—whom he personally trained—that inspired him to return to dog training in civilian life.

Today, Scott brings the same discipline, structure, and dedication from his military career into helping families build stronger, healthier relationships with their dogs. His mission is to guide owners and their dogs toward clear communication, reliable behavior, and a lasting bond built on trust and understanding.

Ven Robinson

Groomer

Ven Robinson is a groomer at ADTC Grooming with nearly seven years of experience in the animal care industry. For three years, Ven worked as a doggie daycare attendant, gaining hands-on experience with canine behavior and group play. The following four years were spent as a veterinary assistant, building a strong foundation in animal health, safety, and proper handling.

Ven is excited to begin this new chapter as a professional groomer and is grateful for the opportunity to pamper pups while continuing to grow in the pet care field. With a background in both daycare and veterinary care, Ven brings a well-rounded, compassionate approach to grooming and is committed to helping every dog feel comfortable and cared for during their visit.

Emily Mansfield

Trainer

After owning horses for eight years and spending five of those years training wild mustangs, transitioning into dog training felt like a natural next step. Working with mustangs taught valuable skills such as patience, timing, and clear communication—qualities that translate directly into working with dogs and their owners.

This background also gave firsthand insight into how overwhelming it can feel when an animal develops unexpected behaviors and there is uncertainty about where to begin. That experience is what fuels a passion for helping owners feel supported, confident, and never stuck without solutions.

Joining Andover Dog Training Center has provided the opportunity to grow as a trainer while serving as a trusted resource for guidance and honest support. In a short time, confidence in training skills has grown significantly, with continued learning each day. The goal is to keep developing professionally, helping dogs and their owners succeed, and building strong, positive relationships through training.
