Our Board & Train program is limited to only two dogs at a time to ensure individualized attention. What will Your DOG Learn?

Training includes foundational obedience commands such as sit, down, place, and recall, along with loose-leash walking and both on-leash and off-leash obedience. We focus on building engagement, impulse control, and calm behavior in the home while developing reliable responses around real-world distractions.

Training begins in low-distraction environments and progresses into real-world locations such as parks, stores, and public areas to ensure dependable behavior outside the facility.

Training Method

Andover Dog Training Center uses a balanced training approach built on all four quadrants of operant conditioning. Training begins with clear communication and structure in low-distraction environments, then progressively increases duration, distance, and distraction to ensure reliable obedience in real-world situations.

When appropriate, training tools such as prong collars and e-collars may be introduced using trusted brands including Garmin, Educator Technologies, and SportDOG. All tools are used responsibly and paired with rewards and clear communication.

Owner Transition & Support

Board & Train programs include regular progress updates throughout your dog’s stay, structured owner transition sessions at program completion, and clear instruction on how to maintain training at home. Ongoing support is also available after your dog returns home to ensure long-term success.

Training does not stop when your dog goes home. Owner education ensures long-term success.

Is Board & Train a Good Fit?

Board & Train is recommended for dogs who need strong obedience foundations, off-leash reliability, improved behavior and manners, greater structure and consistency, and real-world training exposure to ensure lasting results beyond the training environment.

Dogs with severe aggression may require a different program. Suitability is determined during the initial evaluation.
