The people behind ADTC

Built from service. Driven by dogs.

Andover Dog Training Center exists to give dogs clearer lives, owners practical confidence, and local families a team they can trust for the whole journey.

Scott Sexton

The trainer behind the standard.

Before ADTC, Scott trained and worked beside military dogs in situations where communication, judgment, and trust mattered at the highest level.

Scott served six years on active duty in the United States Army, including three years as a Combat Engineer K9 Handler. He worked with Specialized Search Dogs trained to detect roadside bombs and landmines, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan.

After surviving four major explosions and retiring from the Army, his connection to dogs never left. His service dog, Harper—whom Scott trained himself—helped turn that experience into the next mission: helping civilian dogs and their people live better lives together.

What that means today

Discipline without ego. Structure with heart.

Experience matters most when it creates calm, clarity, and better outcomes for the dog in front of you.

01 / HONESTY

Tell the truth.

Families deserve clear expectations, direct communication, and recommendations built around what their dog actually needs.

02 / FAIRNESS

Train the individual.

Methods, tools, pace, and pressure should make sense for the dog—not satisfy a one-size-fits-all ideology.

03 / OWNERSHIP

Teach both ends.

Lasting change requires capable owners. We show you how to communicate and maintain the result.

04 / COMMUNITY

Stay connected.

ADTC is a local team built to support training, grooming, and the life that happens between visits.

Family + community

A local business with a long memory.

We remember the puppy who could not sit still, the first calm walk, the nervous dog who finally settled, and the owner who realized, “I can do this.”

ADTC serves families across Andover, Augusta, Wichita, Derby, Haysville, Rose Hill, Benton, Kechi, Park City, Valley Center, Maize, Goddard, El Dorado, and surrounding Kansas communities.
